MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS
Road to Recovery
- Remixes
12" vinyl

So. We happen to know this three-piece band called Midnight Juggernauts. In their native Australia, they’ve just released an album – Dystopia – and they’re blowing up. Overseas, Vincent (vox/keys), Andy (guitars/vox), and new drummer Daniel Stricker (formerly of The Valentinos) have everything going for them: airplay on Radio 1, support from the Ed Banger/Justice cabal, remixes for !!!, Dragonette and VHS Or Beta, two European tours under their belts and a third one to come… Hot on the heels of the original Road to Recovery 12”, we wanted to see what would happen if we put those massive discoid drums and laser synths in the hands of two angry young men known for two different but equally powerful takes on dancefloor destruction: D.I.M. from Germany and Curses! from Brooklyn.

D.I.M. is the new master of nosebleed techno. Remember Thomas by Puzique (Puzique = D.I.M. + Boys Noize)? Remember Sysiphos? Remember Airbus Baby, both on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings? Yeah, thought so. So you know what to expect: the hugest bass line, the biggest kick, distortion. All delivered with a most Teutonic purity of purpose. And then, vocals and glittery synths rise from the grit and glitches and it sounds like a naked girl hula-hooping with barbed wire.
Curses! is actually heavy bass demon Drop The Lime under a new guise. You’ll get better acquainted with him when we put out his debut 12” – Hungry For Love – in a couple of weeks. For the time being, this remix adds the proper amount of disjointed housey fun to the proceedings, with the mother of all emo build-ups and a galloping, jaunty follow-up.
